Classify the location and impact

A mark on a display face, contact area or less visible base may have different implications. Identify important areas on product photographs and list the conditions to review, such as foreign material, cuts, flash and surface marks.

A hidden functional concern is not less important merely because it is hard to see. Conversely, purely cosmetic differences need clear classification. Agree in advance which conditions are unacceptable.

Keep normal, borderline and unacceptable examples

A perfect sample describes the goal but may not resolve a borderline decision. Retain agreed examples, identify their locations and record viewing conditions such as lighting, distance and method.

These are project agreements, not universal standards. Photographs are affected by exposure and screens, so disputes may require physical samples. The aim is for different inspectors applying the same approach to reach similar conclusions.

Sampling does not define the defect

ASQ describes sampling as a way to draw conclusions about a lot from a sample. Before selecting an inspection plan, buyers still need to define a nonconformity. ASQ sampling guidance

Sampling is not inspection of every unit. Passing a sampling check does not demonstrate that every item is flawless, and an unagreed AQL number does not resolve an appearance dispute.

Purchasing scenario: a small mark on a brush

Suppose a brand and supplier disagree about a mark. Check its location, actual visibility and any previously agreed boundary sample before exchanging more photographs.

If no boundary was established for the first order, develop a physical reference for future decisions while resolving the current issue. That addresses the recurring judgment problem as well as the individual mark.

Bring acceptance references to Zhongding

Zhongding’s team has years of silicone-product manufacturing experience. When discussing custom silicone manufacturing, buyers can bring important appearance areas, examples and viewing conditions for joint agreement.

An effective requirement is clear enough to apply. Physical references, photographs and written criteria should describe the same expectation.
