A continuous drawing does not eliminate mold boundaries
Where mold sections meet, a parting witness may remain on the product. Excess thin material requires appropriate finishing. A normal parting witness and unacceptable flash are not the same condition.
Buyers do not need to design the mold themselves. They should identify display faces, frequently contacted areas and details whose legibility matters. Whether a line can be relocated or controlled requires review of the specific geometry; not every product can be promised a completely mark-free surface.
Mark priorities rather than asking only for a premium look
For a manual facial brush, the front outline and grip may matter most. For a travel bottle, product identification and opening areas may take priority. Acceptable locations for manufacturing witnesses depend on the product.
Fine lettering, grooves and decorative textures also need review for reproducibility, visibility and finishing. A detail that can be drawn is not automatically easy to manufacture consistently. Do not fill a rendering with details before assessing their production implications.
Purchasing scenario: a logo crosses a proposed boundary
Suppose an initial tooling concept puts a boundary through the intended logo area. Discuss moving the logo, changing the local shape or reviewing the tooling arrangement before approval.
There is no universal best answer. If the logo position is fixed, make that clear early. If a change compromises handling, do not sacrifice the complete experience simply to hide a line. Approve the whole object, not only its front photograph.
Start a Zhongding discussion with an annotated view
For silicone OEM/ODM development, customers can bring drawings or references marked with features to retain, features open to change and areas requiring joint review. Zhongding’s existing travel-bottle and cleaning-product categories provide concrete starting points for that conversation.
The buyer is not taking over mold design. The purpose is to make brand priorities visible before the manufacturing arrangement is settled, so both sides evaluate samples against the same goal.
